Dr. Bellmann is a principal senior consultant, specialized in underwater acoustics, underwater noise modelling and noise abatement services with the Institute for Technical and Applied Physics, GmbH.
He has more than 20 years of experience in measuring both airborne and underwater noise. In the underwater realm, he is an experienced practitioner of impact assessment regarding pile-driving noise prediction and noise abatement during harbor construction and offshore windfarm construction. He has also worked with with continuous noise like operational noise or background noise.
Since 2013, he has been involved in the implementation of a noise monitoring concept in accordance with the Marine Strategy Framework Directive in Germany and is currently an external expert for underwater noise of the German national committee Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
